When I googled this route the other day, Gemini told me that it was “extremely dangerous and highly inadvisable” to tow my 30′ Airstream through downtown Black Hawk. But I saw absolutely nothing of concern on Google Street View, so we took a chance and drove it anyway. Just as I predicted, it was perfectly fine. There are definitely roads elsewhere in Black Hawk that are not RV safe, but taking Central City Parkway to Gregory Street to highway 119 was absolute cake. That entire stretch of road was smooth as butter. There were a few steep points, but nothing concerning. The only point in the route that I was initially worried about was the right turn from Central City Parkway to Gregory Street, which is where the pin is dropped on this listing. However, that intersection is very wide and I was able to make the turn with zero stress. I’m certain that rigs even longer than our ~53′ would also be able make this turn with ease. Plus, it was really fun town to drive through! There are all kinds of interesting shops to look at. If there was a place to park our rig, I totally would have wanted to walk around and explore a bit. Alas, parking is extremely limited.
