Located just off I-10 in Deming, Petro Travel Center is a full-service truck stop with diesel fuel lanes, laundry facilities, and a large travel store. The stop features both a Starbucks and an Iron Skillet restaurant on-site, making it an easy place to grab coffee or a sit-down meal while on the road.
Compared to some of the busier interstate truck stops along I-10, this location is generally easier to navigate and does not tend to get overly crowded. Its large parking areas and wide layout make it a convenient stop for RVs large and small.

We’ve used this station many times over the past few years. While it may not be the nicest truck stop we’ve ever encountered, it’s convenient to get to, has a very large parking lot, and has a Starbucks on site—which we really enjoy! Our typical routine is to fuel up, park, then enjoy some food and coffee. I don’t think we’ve ever had to wait in line for the diesel lanes, which is very nice. It just doesn’t get all that crowded here. That said, the pumps are pretty dirty and a bit rundown. I can think of two occasions when I had problem with a pump not working, forcing me to move into another lane. The lot surface here is the worst part of the place. It’s in massive disrepair. You have carefully navigate around huge, deep potholes. Semi trucks might be unfazed, but our Airstream and Ram 2500 wouldn’t fare as well. There is a very large parking lot, but be careful because many of the trucker spots can be used by reservation only.
