About this road
Colorado Road 1A between US-69 and US-50 is a quiet rural connector through the Arkansas River valley near Texas Creek. The road travels through open high-desert terrain with mountain views and generally light traffic, providing a scenic alternative to larger highways in the area. However, the pavement isn’t in great condition and the road is narrow and windy. Depending on your rig and personal comfort level, you may want to consider another route.

1 Review on “Colorado Road 1A”
We’ve driven this road a number of times with our truck alone, but never with our 30′ Airstream. It is indeed bumpy, narrow, and windy, but it’s also relatively short. (And pretty!) We may or may not take it while towing in the future. If we ever do, I’ll add another review to report my experience. If you’re trying to decide wither to take this route or not, I’d walk through it with Google Street View before making a decision.
