Why RV Travel Scout Exists
We’re living in an incredible era for RV travel. We have GPS navigation in our vehicles and on our hikes, satellite connectivity through tools like Starlink and Garmin inReach, smartphones in our pockets, and countless websites collecting user reviews of RV parks. Traveling by RV today is faster, safer, and more flexible than ever.
That’s a stark contrast to how I grew up RVing with my grandparents in the 1980s. None of this technology existed. No GPS. No internet. No crowd-sourced reviews. I still wonder how they figured out where to stay! Compared to then, RV travel today should feel effortless.
And yet, in one specific way, it doesn’t.
Despite all this technological goodness, I’ve consistently found RV-focused review sites to be lacking. Too often, finding places suitable for my rig and travel needs requires more digging than it should. Many sites feel clumsy or outdated. Most focus narrowly on campgrounds, while ignoring other critical parts of RV travel—roads, fuel stops, rest areas, and service centers.
I created RV Travel Scout to fix that. It’s my attempt to bring modern tools, thoughtful design, and comprehensive, RV-specific reviews together in one place—so planning an RV trip can finally be as easy as the technology around us promises it should be.
